Basingstoke Mencap

Exploring our Horizons Together

Activities

Basingstoke Mencap is an independent registered charity striving to enable people who have learning disabilities to gain the best quality of life they can through providing services to promote their physical and mental well-being through leisure, recreation and social activities. We also seek to support people to achieve greater independence and control over their lives. We share the vision of many which is of a world in which people who have a learning disability achieve full participation in society.

Do you share this vision? Can you join us in making this a reality?

A message for all of our customers

Well, we have now got used to the latest lockdown and have hopes that restrictions will be eased once Spring arrives. Hayley, our Leisure, Health and Wellbeing Team Leader is delivering online clubs and social activities by Zoom. We have joined National Mencap’s Let’s Get Digital campaign and want to work with people who don’t currently have the ability to join in with online activities. Please phone Hayley or the Office if you need help to join in. We hope to resume some outdoor activities in April. For details, contact hayley@basingtokemencap.org.uk or phone 07895 376133 or the office number below. Our team of Support Workers can also help you with coping with daily life in the COVID world and with your mental wellbeing. This service is live during lockdown. Contact sandra@basingstokemencap.org.uk or phone 07564 907036. We hope that Greenfingers horticulture will re-open when lockdown ends. To join email david@basingstokemencap.org.uk or phone the Greenfingers Office on 01256 361964 (there is an answerphone). The charity continues to strive hard to ensure that you are kept safe in activities in the ongoing COVID world that we are in.
